My Success with Jillian Workouts!

I wanted to share the success that I have had with working out at home with Jillian Michaels and at the same time give you my experience as well as any tips and pointers! First of all, her workout videos are funny. So you can laugh at her while you are working hard. I have had a ton of fun working out to her videos. The pros for working out at home? Besides the price of the videos,  your workouts are free! All you have to buy is some weights and a resistance cable and mat. Also, you can work out at your own schedule without having to go anywhere! You can benefit from the privacy of your own home! You save a ton of money! You can hop in the shower right after! Your OWN shower!

Last year, in January, I weighed over 180 pounds! I am now at 135 and maintaining with continuing my workout schedule and watching what I eat while allowing myself goodies! I started with Jillian’s Body Revolution. It is a 3 month program and diet. I did not follow the diet as it is not vegan. I did my own diet from things that I have learned by being a fitness coach at Curves. But I did the Body Revolution for the entire year. Although I had seen results just after the 3 months, I wanted to continue to exercise and watch what I eat to keep the weight off and stay healthy. I have to admit it is much easier to keep the weight off being vegan. Body Revolution takes workouts to the next level every 2 weeks. So every two weeks it gets harder.  I also started this year off doing the same Body Revolution workout. But at this point I wanted something that was going to take me to the next level. The next workout I decided to go with is Body Revolution. These workouts are tailored slightly different but still increase intensity every 2 weeks. I just started week 1 this week and it is intense! It is  definitely the next workout you would want to do after you feel you have exhausted the Body Revolution workout. If you are a beginner , I would suggest starting with Body Revolution and run through it a few times. What I would do is add heavier weights the next time around, as well as doing some of the more advanced versions of the exercises she shows you in the video. So you can do Body Revolution for an entire year, while making it harder every time.

Then I would move onto the Body Shred. It is the perfect follow up to Body Revolution. I would not START with Body Shred. It is very intense! Here are links to the two workouts below:

Before you begin, you will need a mat, a resistance cable and some hand weights. For the weights I use a 3 pound, 5 pound and an 8 pound. This will not only get you through the exercises in the videos, but will allow you to add heavier weights to the same exercises when you are ready.

It’s a great way to start the day for me. Physically and mentally! For this reason I suggest you do your workouts in the morning if you can. I know that it may not be plausible for some schedules, but do it if you can. It really prepares you mentally for the day: You can focus more and it also sets the stage for how you are going to eat for the rest of the day as well.
